SIU Credit Union Scholarship Program

Applicant must either be a SIU credit union member or the applicant's legal guardian must be a member in good standing.  This is a $1000.00 scholarship.  Requirements are defined on the application

Sons of Confederate Veterans

This is a $1000.00 scholarship presented to an Illinois graduating senior.  Recipient must be a descendant of a male who served honorably in the Army, Navy, Judicial, Executive, or Civil Service of the Confederate States of America.  Lineal or collateral family lines must have geneaelogical documentation with a descendant chart.  Please see the link below for additional information.  Deadline:  TBA

SouthEast Illinois Area Health Education Center

SEIL-AHEC is accepting application for $500 Future Healthcare Hero awards for 2016 high school graduates attending high school in one of the following counties:  Alexander, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Randolph, Saline Union, Wabash, Wayne, White, and Williamson.  Applicants must be pursuing entry into ANY health science program for the 2016 fall semester.  Deadline for submitting application and required documents: TBA

Southern Illinois Healthcare Summer Internship Program.This is an 8 week internship program in Laboratory, Nursing, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Physical or Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy or other approved career field.

Students entering their Junior and Senior year and graduating Seniors are eligible to apply.The internship will begin in June and end after the first week in August.

Any senior from Shawnee High School who attends SPIN night has their name placed in a drawing that evening for a $250 scholarship provided by Anna-Jonesboro National Bank. For additional information about SPIN night please see the attachment below or call the office. Date:  September 19, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.

Terri Bryant Community College Scholarship
State Representative Terri Bryant has announced that she will offer seven (7) $250 Community College Sponorship Awards to graduating High School Seniors that reside in the 115th State Representative District for the 2016-2017 school year.  These $250 sponsorship awards can be applied to the tuition, fees and books at any of the following Southern Illinois Community Colleges:  Rend Lake College, John A. Logan College, Shawnee Community College, and Kaskaskia College.  Application Deadline: April 3, 2017
Thomas H. Moore IEC Memorial Scholarship Program

The Illinois Electric Cooperatives Memorial Scholarship Program awards ten $2,000 scholarships annually to students entering college to assist them with educational costs.Please see attachment labeled Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative Scholarship Opportunities for scholarship details.
Trend Setters School of Cosmetology, Inc
This a scholarship that can award up to $3,000.  Qualifications to apply include:  Must be a 2016 high school graduate, must attend Trend Setters beginning July 2016,  must comply with rules of application process, and write an essay stating the reasons you would like to be involved in the fascinating world of cosmetology.  Please see below for additional details and the application. 

This is a monetary scholarship for student pursuing an agricultural field of study.  Applicants must execute and submit the following:  completed scholarship application, official transcript, letter indicating why you need the scholarship, letter indicating your interest and goals in agriculture, senior picture or the like for use in their newsletter. Deadline: March 31, 2017

Union County Women in Business
This is a $500 scholarship.  Qualifications to apply include:  must be a senior in the top 40% of the class, must be accepted and plan to attend an institution of higher learning, must provide proof of enrollment.Please see below for details and application. Deadline: February 16, 2017
Voice of Democracy
This scholarship competition requires students to write an essay that would be a 3-5 minute recording.  Students  participating at the school level read their essay which is judged by a team of faculty members.  One is selected to record their essay and submit to the local VFW post. Please see below for details and application.  Deadline: October 14, 2016 to Mrs. Schaefer or Mrs. Nash-Mayberry

William Fred Hannan Memorial Scholarship
Students must be a resident of Alexander County, in the top 50% of your high school class, and must write an essay of up to 500 words or two pages that includes a short bio about yourself and your view on the future of agriculture.  Please see below for the application.  Deadline:TBA

Wolf Lake Methodist Church
This scholarship opportunity takes into consideration a student's leadership qualities, scholastic achievement, behavior, attitude, extra-curricular involvement, and personal contributions to the school and/or community.  This is a $1200 scholarship.  Applications can be found at the link below.  Application Deadline:   February 24, 2017

Zeta Psi Chapter of BetaSigma Phi Scholarship

Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to Union County students.An autobiography of 500 words or less outlining goals of study is required.Please see the link below for the application.Deadline date  :April 7, 2017
